Author, poet, backcountry ranger, river guide, small town newspaper reporter, teacher and 2015-2016 George Bennett Fellow, Peter Anderson will read from his work on Tuesday, May 24, 2016.
Mr. Anderson is the author of First Church of Higher Elevations, and A Grand Canyon Journey: Tracing Time in Stone, and co-editor of Going Down Grand: Poems from the Canyon, His poems have appeared in New Poets of the American West and other anthologies. During his fellowship year he has been working on a mystery set in the San Luis Valley of southern Colorado.
The George Bennett Fellowship, endowed by Elias B. M. Kulukundis ’55, honors Academy English instructor George Bennett by awarding a one-year fellowship to an author of outstanding promise who has not yet published a book.
The reading will be held in Rockefeller Hall from 7:00-8:00 pm.
The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Academy Library and is free and open to the public.
