DROP EVERYTHING AND READ: A KINDA SILENT READING PARTY

This Saturday February 13th, Dean Marshall will be hosting a virtual Drop Everything and Read (D.E.A.R): A Kinda Silent Reading Party. Find a comfy spot and settle in with a work of Black literature! Can be poetry, a novel, a play, whatever you like. Stay as long as you like. We’ll have some stretch breaks with nifty prizes, so bring all your knowledge about Black culture. Need a book to read? AFRICAN AMERICAN READ-IN
SUNDAY FEBRUARY 28th, 3:00-5:00pm
On Sunday February 28th, the Library will host an African American Read-in Event. The African American Read-In was established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English to make literacy a significant part of Black History Month. Join us for an afternoon program featuring readings of works by African-American authors. Sign up to read from your favorite work! We’ll have gifts for all attendees, and readers will receive a commemorative t-shirt. The event will be held from 3:00-5:00pm in the Library’s Rockefeller Hall and is open to current PEA students, faculty and staff. Seating is limited so we encourage attendees to RSVP in advance.
